Michael Eder paints emotional, expressionistic oil landscapes from nature studies and from historical and literary sources.  “They relate to me in that they are experienced in my life-time, they formed my American self, they formed my family and my history.”  Subjects include waterscapes connected to the Neponset River and it’s history, and Niagara Falls, Gettysburg, and Vietnam.

“You corpse I think you are good manure ... I bequeath myself to the dirt to grow from the grass I love.” —Whitman
